Hop-to-It Easter Bunny Cake

Hop-to-It Easter Bunny Cake

Bunny cakes are back. Who can resist this time of year? They’re a super-fun way to celebrate spring!

This year, we wanted to put a new spin on the bunny cake. So we headed into the kitchen with two BAKER’S SECRET® 8″ ROUND CAKE PANS and came up with this super-cute Easter Bunny cake design, complete with pink-padded paws! The best part…making this bunny cake may be easier than hard-boiling and decorating Easter eggs.

We’ll show you how to make your own bunny cake in 10 easy steps. Hop to it!

  1. Start with a favorite box cake mix.
  2. We’re not partial. Chocolate, yellow, white, red velvet, colorful swirls. Our recipe uses lemon cake mix. One box mix usually is enough to fill two 8-inch cake pans. But, it’s good to double check before purchasing so you don’t have to make an extra trip back to the grocery store.

  3. Batter up.
  4. So easy, your kids can help mix the batter. Just follow the box directions.

  5. Divide between two cake pans.
  6. No explanation needed. Simple, right?

  7. Bake according to box directions.
  8. Test with a toothpick when finished…if it comes out clean, it’s fully baked.

  9. Cool both round cakes.

  11. Cut ears and paws from one of the cake rounds.
  12. Follow this simple photo…use a sharp knife and cut slowly so it doesn’t break apart.

  13. Assemble bunny.
  14. We placed ours on a LARGE BAKER’S SECRET® COOKIE SHEET.

  15. Decorate with style.
  16. We used white frosting with coconut to give it that fluffy look. Don’t like coconut? No worries. You decide what works for you. White, chocolate, coconut or plain frosting. Let the kids roll their sleeves up and help. No right or wrong…just have fun!

  17. Frame bunny with coconut grass.
  18. The perfect finishing touch is green-dyed coconut that looks like grass and surrounds your work of art!

We included our Lemonade Bunny Cake that’s as moist as it is spring festive. This bunny cake recipe is juiced up with a zip of lemonade concentrate. And, the best part is it’s so easy to make, the kids can help! GET THE RECIPE
