Unlike most yeast breads, this recipe requires no kneading. The dough is sticky and soft, so preparing it and baking it in Pyrex bowls keeps the process smooth and simple (and far less messy)! The end result is two soft loaves of white bread—perfect for slicing, toasting or simply slathering with jam.

Chef’s Tip:

When working with yeast, here’s a simple way to ensure a beautifully risen loaf. If after several minutes, the honey, water and yeast mixture does not bubble, it may be a sign that the yeast is past its prime. If this should happen, simply discard the mixture and start again with new yeast before adding the remaining ingredients.
