Our Story

Since 1952

By series of fortunate mistakes, the Pyroceram® glass ceramic material was invented in 1952. In 1956, Corning Glass Works began making the nosecones for missiles, called pilot radomes, out of Pyroceram material because it could withstand pressure and heat of supersonic speeds.
