World Kitchen products have led the housewares industry for over 100 years, since the introduction of EKCO® baking pans in 1888. EKCO® Housewares Company, Corning Consumer Products Company (CCPC) and General Housewares Corporation (GHC) are all forebears of the World Kitchen family of companies.

1888 Edward Katzinger founded a commercial baking pan company in Chicago which became EKCO® Housewares Company
1892 Revere Ware® introduced tea kettles
1915 Pyrex® bakeware introduced by Corning Glass Works (CGW)
1930 Chicago Cutlery® introduced by founder Alfred Paulson
1939 Revere Ware® cookware introduced by Revere Copper and Brass
1956 OLFA® Cutters introduced world’s first ‘snap-off’ knife cutting blade
1958 CorningWare® bakeware introduced by CGW
1970 CORELLE® dinnerware introduced by CGW
1972 Baker’s Secret® bakeware introduced by EKCO®
1988 Revere Ware Corporation purchased by CGW
1988 Chicago Cutlery, Inc. purchased by GHC
1992 OXO purchased by GHC
1998 Borden, Inc./KKR purchased Corning Consumer Products Company
1999 CCPC purchased EKCO® & GHC
2000 Launch of World Kitchen, Inc.
